Ella Wyllie maintains 2nd place in youth classification in Rodez

Stage 4 started in Cahors, a town with importance to one of Lifeplus-Wahoo’s French riders. Margaux Vigie’s grandparents are locals and the local roads are where she regularly trains. With her family at the start the pre-stage presentation saw Margaux get the biggest cheer.

The stage saw a large breakaway go up the road but Lifeplus-Wahoo’s goals for the day were to keep Ella Wyllie in a strong position in the white jersey competition. A fast, flat start saw our riders sitting safely in the peloton. As the peloton reached the day’s climbs, a large grupetto began to form, which saw most of the team finish safely within.

Natalie Grinczer helped to look after Ella Wyllie and the pair finished 42nd and 45th, with the Kiwi the lead finish of the pair. Wyllie lost a small amount of time to the white jersey wearer but still sits comfortably in 2nd halfway through the 2023 Tour de France Femmes.
