Lifeplus-Wahoo sign talented Burlová

Lifeplus-Wahoo are over the moon to welcome Kristýna Burlová to the team for the next two seasons.

The 21-year-old rider from the Czech Republic joins the team for Belgium team Lotto-Dstny where she spent the last two years.

Burlová has made a name for herself in Belgian punchy/sprint-style races where she’s become one of the ones to watch in group finishes. She got her season underway well with a 13th place finish in Le Samyn Des Dames followed by an 8th and 5th place in stages at the Tour de Normandie. Solid WT race performances followed before a stand-out 6th place at Scheldeprijs where she caught the eye of Lifeplus-Wahoo finishing alongside the best sprinters in the world.

With over 25 riders and staff heading through the ‘Drops’ programme into World Tour teams, the team are committed and passionate about developing riders and people to be the best they can be.

The signing of Kristýna Burlová is a statement signing for a team that is looking to double-down on their classics and sprint success of recent years.

”We are delighted to welcome Kristýna to the team for the next two years. She’s shown her talent during the season, both as a sprinter, in the leadout and also in breakaways on occasion. With our structure and culture we are confident that Kristyna will continue her rapid development and I’m looking forward to working with such a talented rider.” Team Manager, Tom Varney said.

Kristýna Burlová added “I’m super excited to join Lifeplus-Wahoo and I believe I can make further steps in my career with the team. I want to keep developing but also show myself and the team in the upcoming seasons.

Lots of people see me as a sprinter, but I think I’m more a type of a punchy rider. The thing I love the most is definitely racing and also exploring new places where my bike takes me or coffee rides with my friends and teammates. I’m looking forward to the new adventures and opportunities with the team!”.
